About me

I grew up in a seaside town on the border of Italy and Slovenia. After completing my secondary education in Social Sciences, I pursued Psychology, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Trieste in 2011 and a Master’s Degree with first-class honours from the University of Padua in 2014. Following my studies, I completed a year-long internship at the Children’s Hospital ‘Burlo Garofolo’ in Trieste, where I developed a keen interest in children’s bereavement and grief. In 2017, I presented at the International Conference ‘IDENTITY AGONIES: LIVING DYINGLY’ in Padua on the topic of explaining death to children. With a background in supporting children with neurodevelopmental conditions, I relocated to London in 2018.

I am registered with The British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical, Counselling, and Educational Psychologist. Additionally, I have contributed articles on helping children cope with trauma and grief (available on GetPsyched). My approach to working with children and adolescents is grounded in providing compassionate, evidence-based care, ensuring that each individual receives tailored support to address their unique needs and challenges. I have experience working in both NHS and third sector as a clinical psychologist and supervisor. Currently, I work for a Children and Adolescents Mental Health Service in London, providing psychological support to young neurodivergent individuals and offering coaching interventions to their families.

As a dedicated psychologist, my passion lies in empowering individuals to conquer their challenges and uncover the strength within themselves. Embracing the fundamental worth of each person, I approach my practice with a neuroaffirmative perspective, honouring the diverse ways in which our brains work. I firmly believe in the validity of all emotions, avoiding rigid classifications or a pathology-focused approach. Instead, I embrace each unique circumstance with an open mind and adaptability. Recognising the potential for unhelpful thoughts and maladaptive coping strategies, I employ a versatile toolkit including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and Person-Centred Therapy. Collaborating closely with clients, I tailor these techniques to suit their specific needs and preferences. Grounded in empathy, compassion, and a profound comprehension of neurodiversity, I am devoted to delivering bespoke support that celebrates the individual journey of every person. Whether navigating neurodevelopmental conditions, mental health challenges, or life transitions, I am here to accompany you on the path to healing, growth, and self-empowerment.

In my work with children, I utilise a holistic approach that integrates play-based techniques and art-based methods to create a safe and nurturing environment where children can freely express their thoughts, emotions, and distress. Recognising that traditional talking therapy may not always resonate with young individuals, I employ interactive and creative modalities that speak to their natural modes of communication. Through play, children can explore their inner world, process difficult experiences, and develop coping strategies in a supportive and non-threatening context. Art-based activities further enhance this expressive process, allowing children to externalise their feelings and gain insight into their concerns. By engaging in these playful and creative activities together, I foster a positive relationship with the child, empowering them to take an active role in finding solutions to their challenges. My goal is to provide a therapeutic space where children feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s complexities with resilience and confidence. My profession and clinical activity is regulated by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). Through the HCPC only certain practitioner psychologist titles are protected, one example is Clinical Psychologist. This is a protected term that can only be used by professionals who have completed undergraduate and post-graduate university studies in psychology and clinical psychology, who can prove good character and up to date continuing professional development. Please be mindful when you choose to be supported by someone: unregistered professionals might not have indemnity insurance and if things go wrong there is no regulatory body to turn to.

I’m registered as a clinical, counselling and educational psychologist with the HCPC and also as Chartered Psychologist with the professional body for psychologists, the British Psychological Society (BPS).
